Assi's Baby Felt booties - How to make shoes for my baby?

Assi's baby felt booties shares you a better way to cover your baby's precious tiny toes.

Baby booties can be made in any fabric, however non fraying fabric is a good choice as this decreases the need for hems and seams that can add to the bulkiness of the shoe. Example of this is wool felt.

Let's start the fun of making an adorable baby felt booties.

Here's what you need:

- wool felt fabric
- tracing paper
- needle
- thread
- scissors
- pins
- marker

Here's how to:

1. Use baby felt booties template. Pin templates to wool felt; cut out.

2. To make the heel seam, which shapes the top part of the slipper, fold the upper piece in half, and stitch along the straight edge.

3. Pin the top of shoe to the sole. Sew the pieces together.

4. Turn inside out, hiding the seams.

5. Sew a snap on one strap; sew on the other piece of the snap on the opposite strap.

6. If you want to decorate something on the baby felt booties, attach a tiny ribbon bow to the top of each shoe.

And, that's how easy to make a pair of baby felt booties.

Decoration

Add felt flowers, dots, patterns, letters, butterflies – anything you like onto the fabric. It is easier to do this before making up the booties.

Remember that little fingers will try to remove anything that is attached, so ensure that it is sewn on well and avoid anything that might get swallowed like buttons. Personally, I don't use it for my baby's felt booties
